A mom-to-be has shared the hilarious moment her dad read a card announcing her pregnancy repeatedly, thinking it was about a holiday and not her exciting news. Tia Cooper, 36, from Charlotte, USA, has worked in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, for the past 11 years, so she saves special occasions and announcements for when she is back home stateside with family. When Tia found out she was pregnant, she waited until she was home for the summer to tell her parents, using a delayed Father's Day gift as a way of surprising her dad, Robert Mills, 62. Tia and Robert share a love of tequila, collecting bottles and tasting new ones whenever they are back together, so Tia decided to tie this hobby into her announcement. Having been gifted a vintage bottle for a "very special occasion" on July 6, Richard then read through a card from his daughter, totally missing the clue announcing her pregnancy. The card told Robert to hold off drinking the tequila until a special day in February 2026, when they would say cheers to "something that's worth the wait." Robert thought the date was when he had a trip booked to Abu Dhabi – but Tia then decided to give her father a few more prompts to get the surprise. "Read it again," she encouraged, talking her dad through the message as he read aloud again, before Tia asked him who the card was from, which said, “Love you Paw Paw,” the name his grandchildren call him. It was then that Richard screamed and shouted out, "OH SNAP!", adding, "Are you serious?", as he covered his head in shock and jumped around with excitement.
